she strives to provide accurate information and tools so that each
birthing woman can choose the birth that is best for her. Julie
believes that birth is a normal, natural event with the potential to be
extremely empowering. Julie is thrilled to be the CAPPA teacher trainer
for Massachusetts and to have the opportunity to mentor new childbirth educators.
She is the home schooling mom of two daughters, ages
twelve and eight. She and her daughters love exploring the natural
world, crafting, baking and eating chocolate chip cookies, and
enjoying books together. Julie likes to read, especially historical
fiction, knit, spin, travel, cross country ski, horseback ride,
hike, garden and kayak. She and her family share their home with a
cat and a Golden Retriever and their yard with chickens and dairy
goats.

"I very much enjoyed my childbirth
class with Julie. It was a great chance for me to learn more about
pregnancy and childbirth. It was the one time each week where I could
really focus on my pregnancy, my baby, and what was to come. Most of us
who took the class together have stayed in touch and that has been a
tremendous support system for me."
-Amy L., Mom and Former Childbirth Student
"Julie has been an excellent childbirth
educator in our community for many years. I have referred my patients
to her whenever possible. She's passionate about birth, and caring not
just for her own clientele but for the community as a whole."
